Q: Is internet access available at the cabin?
A: Yes. Abide With Me is equipped with both wired and wireless high speed internet.
Q: Is there a set check-in / check-out time for Abide With
Me? Can we check-out later?
A: Yes, check-in time is 4 PM (or later if you prefer) on your arrival date. Check-out time is 11 AM (or earlier if you prefer). A later check-out is NOT possible since our management company needs to get the cabin ready for the next guests.
Q: Do we need to drive up a winding mountain road to get to
A: Yes, you will. Any cabin with a view will require some mountain roads to get there. The roads to the cabin are well maintained, and have never prevented a guest from arriving! We know that mountain roads can be intimidating for some people, but after you have traveled them a few times you will realize that they are not all that difficult!
Q: Will we need to travel on any gravel roads to reach Abide
A: Not any more. The last section of road was recently paved!
Q: What do we need to bring?
A: The cabin will be supplied with all towels, linens, paper products and soap. You will need to bring food (if you plan to cook at the cabin), your clothes as well as personal items. If you plan to use the charcoal grill you will need to provide the charcoal and lighter fluid.
Q: Does Abide With Me offer any premium movie channels?
A: Yes. In addition to several movie channels, the cabin also provides thousands of "On Demand" movies and sports events.
Q: Will I be able to watch the game?
A: Yes, or at least in most cases you will. The cable TV programming at the cabin includes most major sports networks. We do not however have any control over broadcast blackouts that may be in effect.
Q: Where exactly is Abide With Me located?
A: For security reasons we cannot provide exact directions here. Abide With Me is located on Shields Mountain, just outside Pigeon Forge, and only minuets to Gatlinburg. The Dollywood theme park is located at the foot of this mountain.
Q: Is there a telephone number at the cabin?
A: Yes. Both local and North American long distance calls are free! When you reserve the cabin, the phone number will be provided so that you can leave it with those who may need to contact you during your stay.
Q: Are we expected to clean the cabin before we leave?
Q: Does Abide With Me have central air conditioning?
Q: Is there a minimum length of stay?
A: Sometimes, especially during peak periods and holidays. You will need to ask when you enquire about the dates you have selected to see if this will apply to you.
Q: Do you offer single night rentals?
A: Not usually. These may be allowed on days that are stranded between bookings, and they will usually require an additional cleaning fee?
Q: Do you provide daily maid service?
A: No. If required it can be provided for an additional fee.
Q: Do all the TV's have independent cable service?
A: Yes, each TV can be viewing a different program at any time. The main level TV also includes premium movie/sports channels as well as "On Demand" programming.
Q: Do you ever have any specials?
A: There is always a year round special where you can stay for six days for the price of five. Other specials are sometimes available, but usually only after the most desirable dates have already been booked. If you have a fixed date in mind, it is always better to book early to avoid disappointment!
Q: The terrain around the cabin looks rather steep. Will I
need to park my car on a hill?
A: No. The concrete driveway has level parking for up to four vehicles.
Q: We plan on having guests while we visit. We understand
that the cabin normally sleeps up to 6 people. Is there enough
place settings to have a meal with more than that?
A: Yes. The fully equipped kitchen has place settings for up to 12 people. Including the breakfast island there is seating for 10.
Q: We plan to come to the area for our honeymoon. Why would I
stay at Abide With Me?
A: Many guests have honeymooned at Abide With Me, and the cabin has also been host to at least one wedding! The privacy and seclusion that it offers is probably why, and this is something that is becoming very hard to find in the Smokies rental market. Q: Can we bring our pets?
A: Sorry, Abide With Me in consideration of ALL our guests does not allow pets.
Q: We stayed at Abide With Me (it is a wonderful place) and
wanted to leave some comments in the guestbook, but we didn't
see one. How come?
A: You can leave your comments using our Contact Us form. Our management company discourages a guestbook since they cannot control the language and/or the comments. We tend to agree with them since we want Abide With Me to be family friendly in all respects.
